Following the sell-out success of Das Rheingold and Die Walküre, Conductor Laureate Antonio Pappano and director Barrie Kosky reunite for the third chapter of Wagner’s epic Ring cycle. Siegfried will run on the Royal Opera House Main Stage from 17 March to 6 April 2026.

One of the world’s leading heldentenors, Andreas Schager makes his highly anticipated Royal Opera debut in the title role. He joins a stellar cast including Christopher Maltman as Der Wanderer, Elisabet Strid as Brünnhilde and Soloman Howard as Fafner, all returning after acclaimed performances in Die Walküre.

The cast also features Peter Hoare as Mime, Christopher Purves as Alberich, Wiebke Lehmkuhl as Erda and former Jette Parker Artist Sarah Dufresne as the Woodbird. Pappano conducts the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House in Wagner’s monumental score.

Audiences worldwide can experience the production live in cinemas on 31 March, with encore screenings from 5 April. Cinema broadcasts will include exclusive behind-the-scenes content and rehearsal footage, hosted by presenter Elle Osili-Wood.

Ahead of opening night, actor and broadcaster Stephen Fry will lead a conversation with Pappano and Kosky on 13 February in the Linbury Theatre, streamed live on the Royal Ballet & Opera YouTube channel.
