Belgrade Theatre Coventry has unveiled further details of its Spring 2027 season, bringing an extensive programme of drama, comedy, family entertainment, music and new writing to the venue.
Among the highlights is James Graham’s Olivier Award-winning Punch, winner of the 2026 Olivier Award for Best New Play. The powerful drama, which explores forgiveness, redemption and toxic masculinity, visits the Belgrade as part of its UK tour from 20 to 24 April 2027.
Dash Arts’ new drama The Reckoning runs from 28 to 30 January. Exploring the conflict in Ukraine through the experiences of one family, each performance will be followed by a special Food For Thought discussion with guests including journalists, lawyers and people with direct experience of the conflict.
Original Theatre’s new comedy thriller The Other Side of Murder arrives from 16 to 20 March. Written by Torben Betts and directed by Philip Franks, the production stars Rufus Hound, Susie Blake and Carla Mendonça in a darkly comic story where dinner-party tensions spiral into unexpected territory.
The season also includes Finding Joy from Vamos Theatre on 25 and 26 February, a wordless production based on true events which celebrates the company’s 21st anniversary, and A Thing of Beauty from 23 to 24 March, a psychological drama centred on filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl.
Family audiences can look forward to the world premiere stage adaptation of Piers Torday’s The Last Wild, produced by Unicorn Theatre and the National Theatre, from 20 to 24 April. The season also includes Noori and Her Fantastical World, Nick Cope: I’ve Lost My Bobble Hat… Again! and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show.
The Belgrade will also premiere Nanny of the Maroons from 18 June to 3 July. Written by Belgrade Theatre Artistic Director Corey Campbell and Lucia Haynes, and directed by Campbell alongside Justine Themen, the new production tells the story of legendary 18th-century freedom fighter Nanny of the Maroons and has been developed through the theatre’s community-led co-creation programme.
Comedy highlights include Sue Perkins’ The Eternal Shame of Sue Perkins, Kane Brown’s filmed stand-up show Don’t Listen To Me, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and Murder She Didn’t Write.
Music fans can enjoy performances including Luther Live and Velvet Voices, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Seven Drunken Nights: A Tribute to The Dubliners, Queen of the Night: A Tribute to Whitney Houston, Legend: The Music of Bob Marley, Arrival: The Hits of ABBA and Good Vibrations: A Celebration of the Beach Boys.
