Beyond the Fence’ is a powerful and uplifting new musical which tells the inspirational story of a mothers struggle to protect her daughter and stand up for her beliefs.

Inspired by the Greenham Common peace camp, this is the moving story of Mary and her daughter George, who have lived throughout 1982 at the anti-nuclear protest. When Mary is faced with losing her child to the authorities, an unlikely ally is found in American Airman Jim Meadow. But can Mary continue to do what’s best for her daughter, while staying true to her ideals?  ‘Beyond the Fence’ is not only a deeply touching and often funny story about hope, defiance, love and friendship, but also an exciting first of its kind for musical theatre.Following a ground-breaking study of some of the most powerful stories and songs ever made, this unforgettable new show is a world first. It was conceived and substantially crafted  by computer, before being placed in the hands of a top human cast and creative team (including the director of In the Heights and the co-producer of Gypsy).

‘Beyond The Fence’ will run at the Arts Theatre from 22nd February to 5th March.
