Birmingham Royal Ballet, one of the world’s greatest touring classical ballet companies, announce Rachael Magson as its new Director of Development.

Rachael, who has held a number of strategic and fundraising roles within arts and cultural organisations for the last decade, was the sole fundraiser on the Cultural Programme of the Commonwealth Games, raising over £12million for the Birmingham 2022 Festival. Other roles have included Senior Programme Manager (Fundraising) for The National Trust, Head of Fundraising, Birmingham Hippodrome and Executive Director at Pentabus.

Commenting on her appointment Rachael said “I am very excited to be joining one of the most prestigious touring companies in the world at a time when its Director, Carlos Acosta, is creating exciting and ambitious new works for the company, including the recently acclaimed Black Sabbath – The Ballet.”

Caroline Miller CEO at BRB said “Rachael comes with an incredibly impressive track record of working on huge fundraising projects. Her skills and her commitment to the region will be a great asset to BRB as we enter a time of increased learning and participation projects to benefit wider communities, the return to international touring and future exciting programming announcements to come for the company.”

Rachael, who has recently taken up her full-time role as part of the senior team at BRB, will focus on strategic fundraising and planning to help widen partnerships, develop the company’s community and outreach work and support BRB’s future ground-breaking programming and international touring.
