BoxLess Theatre and Fight or Flight Productions have been announced as the first two theatre companies to join The Lion & Unicorn Theatre as Associate Artists for 2019 / 2020.

BoxLess was founded in 2016, by Zöe Grain and Alexander Knott, to give a platform to underrepresented movers, dancers and physical theatre artists, as well as to fuse original new writing with dance and physical theatre, creating an exciting new way of seeing both. Their debut production ‘LOOP’ was named one of Theatre Weekly’s Top Ten Off West End Plays of 2017 and went on to be performed at Theatre Royal Stratford East and 53Two in Manchester, which received critical acclaim and multiple five star reviews. Finishing 2018 at the Edinburgh Fringe where it took up residence at Underbelly for the month. BoxLess are currently in R&D for their next production, due in the spring/summer 2019.

Fight or Flight Productions are Jess Barton and Ross Kernahan.  Founded in Brighton in 2012, Fight or Flight Productions began over a cup of coffee with the aim to create provocative and sensually gripping theatre by journeying into the dark spaces of our minds – stepping into the black, confronting the scary, reflecting the uncomfortable and making it home.

Both companies will debut new brand new pieces of work at The Lion & Unicorn, which is in Kentish Town and will be relaunching in March 2019 under Artistic Director, David Brady.
