Camden Fringe has unveiled its 2026 programme, marking its 20th anniversary year with an огромous line-up of more than 400 shows across over 30 venues throughout August.
Running from 3 to 30 August, the open-access festival offers a diverse mix of theatre, comedy, dance, magic and music, showcasing both emerging talent and established artists.
Since its launch in 2006, Camden Fringe has built a reputation as an affordable and accessible counterpart to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, offering artists a platform to experiment and develop new work.
This year’s programme includes themes such as true stories, reinterpretations of classic tales, and interactive performances designed to engage audiences in new and inventive ways.
Highlights include BAFTA winner Kimberley Nixon’s solo show Baby Brain, a “slightly true story” about postpartum psychosis, and 3 Phone Calls, performed by a real-life mother and son exploring abuse towards the queer community.
Classic stories receive bold new treatments, from The Barber of Seville set in the 1960s to Abigail, which reimagines The Crucible through the lens of sexual violence survivors, and Pericles (kind of), a playful musical take on Shakespeare.
Interactive performances also feature strongly, including the Western-inspired The Well and the reality TV parody I’m a Philosopher! Why the Fuck am I Here?, alongside the game show-inspired Cornershop Showdown.
Comedy remains central to the festival, with Sofar Comedy bringing a curated line-up of emerging acts, alongside improvised shows such as Office Drama and stand-up performances from acts including Chris and Matthew Ali.
Festival founders Zena Barrie and Michelle Flower said, “It is quite incredible to be celebrating the 20th year of the Camden Fringe. Unlike our faces, the festival has got smoother, tighter and more splendid with every passing year. We have a fantastic line-up in 2026 to mark this milestone. Bring it on!”
The festival continues its mission to support artists at all stages of their careers, providing opportunities for experimentation in a supportive and community-driven environment.
