The Stephen Joseph Theatre has revealed the cast for its first production of 2026, the fast-paced musical comedy Murder for Two.

Tom Babbage and Lucy Keirl will lead the madcap whodunit, playing 13 characters between them, as well as the piano.

The show follows the chaos that unfolds when celebrated novelist Arthur Whitney is found dead at his birthday party. With the detectives out of town, it falls to Officer Marcus Moscowicz, an ambitious neighbourhood cop, to crack the case before the professionals arrive.

The award-winning Broadway hit promises a gloriously silly and devilishly clever take on the murder mystery format.

With book and music by Joe Kinosian, and book and lyrics by Kellen Blair, Murder for Two is directed by Caroline Leslie, who says: “I’m thrilled that SJT audiences will be taking a crazy ride into the brilliantly comic world of Murder for Two this spring. The show is a tour de force of musical mayhem and a wildly ambitious creative challenge, and we couldn’t have assembled a better acting company and creative team to bring this absurdly joyful play to life. We can’t wait to share it with you.”
