Cast of Cliffs

The full cast for a workshopped reading and concert version of Cliffs The Musical has been revealed for November 2024, performing at The Other Palace.

Written and composed by Elan Butler (Masters of the Air, Funny Woman), Cliffs The Musical combines a score of hip-hop and folk, telling the story of Teddy Thomas, a young girl who mysteriously vanishes on her way to school, plunging the Thomas family and the rest of the community into turmoil. This isn’t a sink into your seat naturalistic drama, it’s a raw, gutsy, fresh take on British musical theatre that tackles issues such as love and grief, as well as highlighting the importance of community and togetherness.

The concert will be directed by Dean Johnson (Once at London Palladium, Lift at Southwark Playhouse), with musical supervision by Lucinda Coyle. Cliffs was first developed on Leicester Curves Playwriting course, swiftly being showcased at Musical Mercury Developments and Musical Theatre Networks Beam Showcase 2023, which helped gain support from ATG Productions and the University of Winchester.

Set to appear are Zoë Athena as Teddy Thomas, Cleve September as Billy Thomas, Richard James-Neale as Darryl, Elan Butler as Frank, AK Golding as Azrael, Leah Deal as Chloe, Alexia Hashem as DCI Newman, George Renshaw as Harry and Thea Butler as Detective Slater. Percussion onstage will be provided by Samuel Xavier.

Cliffs will have three performances in total, 4:00PM and 8:00PM on the 22nd November and  8:00PM on the 23rd of November, all within The Other Palace studio.
