Sheffield Theatres has announced casting for its upcoming production of Summer Holiday The Musical, co-produced with Blackpool Grand Theatre.
Directed by Artistic Director Elizabeth Newman alongside Ben Occhipinti, the new production will bring the iconic 1960s film to the stage this summer.
The cast includes Fanta Barrie as Barbara, Jim Duah as Edwin and Robin Harris as Steve, alongside Damian Humbley as Jerry and George Jones as Don.
They are joined by Nis Raza Hamilton, Elliot Mackenzie, Matthew James Hinchliffe, Jane McCarry and Trudy Ward, with additional ensemble and swing performers completing the company.
Summer Holiday The Musical follows Don and his friends as they embark on a cross-European adventure aboard a double decker bus, travelling through Paris, the Alps, Italy and Greece in search of fun, music and romance.
Along the way, the group encounter pop bands, runaway stars and unexpected relationships, all set to a soundtrack of classic hits including Summer Holiday, The Young Ones and Living Doll.
Elizabeth Newman and Ben Occhipinti said: “For us, Summer Holiday is pure joy – full of freedom, adventure, music and heart. We’re incredibly excited to bring a fresh new energy to this iconic musical and create a production that feels vibrant, uplifting and bursting with life.”
The production features a creative team including set and costume designer Amanda Stoodley, musical director Richard Reeday, movement director Lesley Hutchison and lighting designer Rory Beaton.
Summer Holiday The Musical will run at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield from 20 June to 18 July 2026, before transferring to Blackpool Grand Theatre from 29 July to 8 August.
