Norwich Theatre has announced Gyasi Sheppy in the title role of this year’s much anticipated pantomime, Dick Whittington and his Cat, opening at Norwich Theatre Royal Saturday 11 December 2021, running until Sunday 9 January 2022.

Gyasi is well known as the newest housemate in the CBeebies House and already adored by viewers nationwide. With a background in performing and entertainment from a very young age, Gyasi has played roles in feature films and TV commercials at home in Northern Ireland. He will bring his incredible energy as both an actor and presenter to the role of Dick Whittington.

Also announced today is Shakeel Kimotho who plays Beau Bells, the Spirit of the Bells. Shakeel is an exciting and emerging young performer whose first professional engagement was in Matthew Bourne’s ground-breaking Lord of the Flies, which first brought him to dance and the led him to professional training.

Stephen Crocker, Chief Executive & Creative Director, said: “I am so excited by the cast we have brought together for this year’s panto. With both established and emerging performers from the worlds of West End theatre, TV and YouTube, we couldn’t have asked for a more diverse, talented, passionate and fun cast to work with in bringing back our trademark ‘all singing all dancing’ Panto. With Gyasi and Shakeel now completing our line-up, we are all set to give our wonderful audiences a festive treat of a show, packed with magic, fun and laughter.”

The stellar cast also includes TV & Soap Star Siân Reeves and Dengineers presenter and YouTube sensation Joe Tracini, alongside actor Graham Cole (The Bill), from SIX the Musical in the West End Jarnéia Richard-Noel, multi-instrumentalist comedian Joe Pollard and Theatre Royal favourite Richard Gauntlett, returning for his 21st Norwich Panto!
