After last summer’s five star success with ‘Patience’ the award winning ‘masters of Gilbert & Sullivan in small spaces’ return to Wilton’s Music Hall with their side-splitting murder mystery spoof, which features every single G&S opera in 75 minutes of madcap tomfoolery.

Get ready to be swept away on a Topsy-turvy journey from Cornwall to Chancery Lane, from Titipu to the Tower of London, from Portsmouth to Fairyland, as a dubious detective, intriguing travellers – and a pianist – uncover clues upon red herrings in this inventive, witty – and downright
extraordinary – murder mystery.

Express G&S is splattered with favourite ballads, songs and snatches from the Savoy operas including ‘The Pirates of Penzance’, ‘The Mikado’ and ‘H.M.S. Pinafore’, as well as from those less performed, such as ‘The Sorcerer,’ ‘Princess Ida’ and ‘Utopia Ltd’.

Express G&S is at Wilton’s Music Hall 15th – 18th August

THE MIKADO

Charles Court Opera, present their stylish, highly successful 5 star London production of the most loved of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic masterpieces, ‘The Mikado’.

Behind closed doors at a British Consulate, the scheming Lord High Executioner is about to hatch one plot too far, with far-reaching and hilarious consequences for everyone involved. Containing familiar songs including “A wandering minstrel, I”, ”I’ve got a little list” and “Three little maids from school”, this punchy and hilarious satire promises to be a treat for operetta lovers and newcomers alike.  The production is directed by John Savournin, whose recent and current productions include ‘Trial by Jury’ for Opera North, ‘The Pirates of Penzance’ and ‘HMS Pinafore’, both in collaboration with Opera Holland Park.

When first seen in 2018, this production wowed audiences and critics alike, so this highly anticipated return to London is bound to excite G&S audiences in the capital.

Cast:  Matthew Kellett, Matthew Siveter, Alys Roberts, Jennifer Begley, Amy J Payne, Catrine Kirkman, Meriel Cunningham, Robin Bailey, Jack Roberts, Jennifer Clark, and Stephen Godward.

The Mikado is at The Arcola Theatre 19 – 23 September.
