The Olivier Award-winning smash hit comedy Oh, Mary! has announced an extension of its West End run at Trafalgar Theatre until 2 January 2027.
The production, written by Tony Award-winner Cole Escola and directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Pinkleton, continues its celebrated London run following widespread acclaim and major awards success on both sides of the Atlantic.
Cole Escola will make their West End debut this summer, reprising their Tony Award-winning performance as Mary Todd Lincoln for a strictly limited four-week engagement from 20 July until 15 August 2026.
Currently starring in the role is Catherine Tate, who will give her final performance as Mary Todd Lincoln on Saturday 18 July. Casting for the role from 17 August onwards is yet to be announced.
Joining Tate in the current cast are Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone, Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher, and Scott Karim as Mary’s Husband.
Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy set in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, exploring the inner life of Mary Todd Lincoln through an irreverent and absurd lens. The 80-minute one-act play examines themes of unfulfilled desire, frustration and identity.
Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, the production has won multiple accolades including Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton. It was also a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
The show premiered off-Broadway in January 2024 before transferring to Broadway in July 2024, where it broke box office records. It opened in the West End at Trafalgar Theatre on 3 December 2025 and won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at this year’s Olivier Awards.
The creative team includes scenic design by dots, costume design by Holly Pierson, lighting design by Cha See, and sound design and music by Daniel Kluger.
