Concrete Youth has announced that it will re-release Winter Wonderland, their hit, online, multi-sensory theatre production this winter, due to overwhelming demand.
It’s winter: the days are shorter, the trees are looking bare and the temperatures have plummeted. But…there’s no snow! The Snow Machine in Winter Wonderland has broken and, if it can’t be fixed, winter will be ruined forever!
But all is not lost. Jack Frost and the Snow Queen have heard that you, the winterns at home, can help them?
Can you work out why it’s broken? Will you help Jack and Snow mend it and save winter? And does yellow snow really taste like chicken.
Packed full of frosty sensory moments and fun, Winter Wonderland is an Offie Award-nominated, 5-star production for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities, and is the perfect, snowy show to get you in the holiday mood.

Winter Wonderland was originally presented in partnership with Hull New Theatre. It was supported by Arts Council England, Hull City Council, Hull Culture & Leisure and Back to Ours.
Concrete Youth is an award-winning, Hull-based charity, dedicated to providing multi-sensory theatre and education for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
CEO & Co-Artistic Director, Daniel Swift FRSA said: “Our audience have had a disproportionately difficult time over the past 20 months, from shielding, to lack of care, support, provision and being an afterthought in most COVID-19 guidance. We developed this production to provide cultural provision during the pandemic, to an audience who already suffer suck a severe lack of it already.
During the past few weeks, we’ve been approached by countless families, care settings and schools asking how they can access Winter Wonderland. Which is what led us to bring it back this winter. Winter Wonderland is a lovely show about working together, helping each other, family and friendship (and snow!). I’m delighted that we can bring the production back to them.”
Belle Streeton, Winter Wonderland’s director and Concrete Youth’s Co-Artistic Director said: “Winter Wonderland was made last year for audiences at home. We had so much fun making it. It was a very different experience, with never actually meeting the cast and crew in person. For those that are still staying at home – we hope that this can provide some entertainment for you and a chance to make some snow and enjoy some hot cocoa!”.
