The Curious Puppets Festival is back for its fifth year, running from 6–15 November 2025 at the Rosemary Branch Theatre in London.

Presented by Curious School of Puppetry and the Rosemary Branch Theatre, the festival showcases a vibrant mix of puppetry, film, music, and storytelling. It opens with Curious Cabaret!—a series of cabaret-style evenings featuring performances by alumni and the Curious team.

Emily Morus-Jones brings two nights of short films and a comedy lecture titled Puppets on Film. She describes it as “a feminist puppeteer and filmmaker does geeky Dave Gorman-style stand-up in this comedy lecture contemplating the place of unfinished experiences in an artist’s evolution.”

Swallow’s Wings Puppetry will present The Lion’s Roar (and other stories), a non-verbal puppet show blending dance and West African music. This one-time performance promises laughter, surprises, and interaction for all ages.

Mike Shepherd, founder of Kneehigh, adapts The Ugly Duckling with puppets by Lyndie Wright, founder of the Little Angel Theatre. This sweet and silly retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen classic is designed for children aged three and up.
