Leicester’s Cultural Quarter will come alive this summer as Curve on the Square returns from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 August 2025.

Presented by Curve theatre and sponsored by De Montfort University (DMU), this vibrant outdoor festival promises a weekend packed with free performances and activities for all ages.

Taking place in Orton Square, the event will feature live entertainment from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, 11am to 9pm on Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.

No tickets are required, and all events are free to attend. An outdoor bar will also be available throughout the weekend, offering drinks and snacks.

Since its inception in 2021, Curve on the Square has become a beloved bi-annual celebration, showcasing over 120 local artists and community groups in 2023 alone.

Audiences can expect a diverse programme including musical theatre, dance, live music, spoken word, family workshops, and more.

Curve’s Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said:

“We’re thrilled Curve on the Square will return this summer. Since the very first extravaganza in 2021, it’s been a joy to see Leicester’s communities and visitors to the city coming together to enjoy incredible performances from talented local artists.

“We’ll tightly cross our fingers for good weather, but come rain or shine, we know all those who join us will be in for a fantastic weekend of free entertainment.

“See you on the Square!”

Curve is currently inviting local performers to apply for paid slots ranging from 15 to 60 minutes. Interested artists can find more information here.

The weekend also coincides with the final performances of The Addams Family, starring Alexandra Burke, Lesley Joseph, Clive Rowe, and Ricardo Afonso, which runs at Curve from Tuesday 15 July to Sunday 10 August.
