A first look at Alexandra Burke as Morticia Addams has been revealed ahead of the highly anticipated UK tour of The Addams Family – The Musical Comedy, opening this July.

The multi-award-winning singer and actress, known for The X Factor, Sister Act, and The Bodyguard, will lead the cast as the iconic matriarch of the delightfully macabre Addams clan.

Joining Burke are Lesley Joseph (Birds of a Feather) as Grandma, Clive Rowe (The Prince of Egypt) as Uncle Fester, and Ricardo Afonso (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Gomez Addams.

Lauren Jones will play Wednesday Addams, with Nicholas McLean as Pugsley, Dickon Gough as Lurch, Dale Rapley as Mal, Jacob Fowler as Lucas, and Kara Lane as Alice.

The Addams Family features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), and music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated Andrew Lippa. The musical is based on the beloved characters created by Charles Addams.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has a shocking secret—she’s fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family. Only Gomez knows, and he must keep the secret from Morticia until the families meet for a fateful dinner.

The production is directed by Matthew White, with choreography by Alistair David, production design by Diego Pitarch, orchestrations by Richard Beadle, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound design by Richard Brooker, and casting by Jane Deitch.

The Addams Family is produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment and John Stalker Productions, with co-producers ADAMA Entertainment and Guy James, and is presented through special arrangement with Theatrical Rights Worldwide.
