Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story Returns to Edinburgh Fringe for Five Nights Only

Diana The Untold and Untrue Story

The People’s Princess is returning to the Edinburgh Fringe after selling out completely at the festival last year. Alongside viral sensation Gwyneth Goes Skiing, Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story is the second production Awkward Productions will take to the Fringe this summer.

After a sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run in 2023 (Winning the OffFest Award for Best Play and the prestigious LAURA Award), a UK tour and a London run at King’s Head Theatre this Spring, “the most unhinged piece of theatre in existence” (Broadway Baby) makes its triumphant return to Edinburgh for five nights only. Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story uniquely combines drag, multimedia, audience interaction, puppetry and queer joy for an unforgettable, untrue experience.

A cult-hit with audiences and critics alike for its unique audience participation and staggeringly camp portrayal of the royals, the show highlights Diana’s ground-breaking stances on social and queer issues and allows her to finally speak her (un)truth and break free from the monarchy. Told by Diana from heaven, Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story is an “outrageous triumph”. (Edgar Wright)

Linus Karp comments: “Doing this show at the Fringe 2023 changed our lives. I can not wait to experience being a Princess at the most Diconic festival in the world once again this Summer.”
