The Donmar Warehouse’s critically acclaimed production of The Guilty, starring Russell Tovey, will transfer to the West End following a sold-out run at the Donmar.

Produced by SENSARA, Mark Rubinstein and the Donmar Warehouse, the production will open at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 27 January 2027, with previews beginning on 16 January, and will run until 3 April 2027.

Written by Chloë Moss and directed by Felix Barrett, The Guilty is based on the film Den Skyldige by Gustav Møller and Emil Nygaard Albertsen.

Russell Tovey reprises the role of troubled police officer Joe, who is confined to desk duties when he receives a desperate 999 call from a woman in danger. As he attempts to piece together fragmented clues, a tense thriller unfolds in which nothing is quite as it seems.

Tovey said: “I’ve never quite had an experience like The Guilty, every single performance at the Donmar vibrated with an energy I’ve never felt on stage – audience and performer connected and intertwined – I cannot wait to perform it in The Pinter.”

Donmar Artistic Director Tim Sheader and Executive Director Henny Finch added: “Donmar audiences were mesmerised this summer by The Guilty in our intimate theatre, and we are excited that even more people will now get to experience this ‘thrilling shot of theatrical adrenaline’ (The London Standard) as it transfers into the West End.”

Public booking opens at 10am on 16 October 2026, with tickets available from £30. More than 20,000 tickets throughout the run will be priced at £40 or less.

The creative team includes set designer Alex Eales, lighting designer Anna Watson, sound designer Gareth Fry, video designer Luke Halls, associate director Elin Schofield, casting director Lotte Hines CDG, production manager Chris Hay and assistant director Jessy Roberts.
