Musical theatre star Michael Pickering has released a powerful new single, Don’t Go, available from 23rd May 2025.

After a celebrated career leading some of the West End’s biggest musicals, including Starlight Express, Jersey Boys, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Pickering is now telling his own story through original music.

Don’t Go is a heartfelt Country track inspired by a night out in Tennessee — a night that might have taken a different turn if one particular friend had been there.

“That friend who, no matter what, will not let you leave the party and will forever be armed with the immortal line, ‘I just bought you one more’,” Pickering explains.

The single explores themes of friendship, societal pressure, and the emotional tug of that never-ending night out.

Hailing from the north-east of England and fresh from a creative stint in Nashville, Pickering collaborated with award-winning producer Tim Prottey-Jones (First Time Flyers, The Wandering Hearts) to bring the track to life.

Pickering’s music offers a candid glimpse into his personal journey, shaped by his upbringing and the heartbreaks that have defined his artistry.
