Bellina Logan brings her critically acclaimed solo show Confessions Of A Mulatto Love Child to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for its international debut, offering a vivid and wide-ranging portrait of an unconventional childhood.

Written and performed by Logan, the show draws on her own experiences growing up across Los Angeles, New York, London and Spain, shaped by an eccentric English mother, an absent Black father and a constantly shifting sense of home. Through a kaleidoscope of characters and voices, Logan recreates a world defined by reinvention, unpredictability and larger-than-life personalities.

At the heart of the story is Logan’s relationship with her mother, Averil, a writer and artist who encouraged her daughter to pay attention to every detail of life. As the narrative unfolds, those memories take on new significance when Logan returns later in life to care for her mother as her memory begins to fade.

Blending irreverent humour with emotional honesty, the show explores questions of identity, belonging and race, as Logan reflects on growing up biracial in predominantly white environments. With only minimal staging, she conjures a rich and expansive theatrical world through performance alone.

Praised for its storytelling and emotional depth, Confessions Of A Mulatto Love Child balances humour and reflection, creating an engaging and dynamic solo performance.
