Los Angeles-based theatre company The Nightmare Lizards bring their acclaimed production DINOSAURS to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, blending dark comedy, science fiction and emotional storytelling in a genre-defying new play.
Written by Mandy Rubeli and directed by Faith Saporito, the show centres on Claire, who returns home to find an unexpected guest in her apartment: a dinosaur named Norma, calmly wearing an apron. Joined by her sci-fi obsessed best friend Hayden, Claire is forced to confront the possibility that this bizarre arrival is tied to unresolved trauma from her past.
What follows is a chaotic and darkly comic road trip that spirals through time, memory and emotional reckoning. As Claire attempts to prevent a catastrophic rupture in the space-time continuum, the play explores the complex ways trauma can distort reality and prevent us from moving forward.
Balancing absurd humour with a nuanced exploration of healing and accountability, DINOSAURS offers a unique theatrical experience that is both entertaining and emotionally resonant. The production features a four-person cast including Hailey Hudson, Devin Stone, Mandy Rubeli and Faith Saporito.
Having already received critical acclaim in the United States, The Nightmare Lizards arrive in Edinburgh with a strong reputation for inventive, bold storytelling.
DINOSAURS runs at Greenside @ Riddles Court from 07 – 29 August at Various Times. Tickets are on sale hereÂ
