Dungeons and Shakespeare heads to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with an inventive interactive comedy that mashes up the worlds of the Bard and tabletop roleplaying.

Hosted by creator and dungeon master Shelby Bond, the show invites audiences to help shape a live adventure in which Shakespeare’s most iconic characters are thrown into unpredictable fantasy quests. Using giant dice, cards and improvisation, each performance unfolds in real time, guided by audience choices and chance.

From Hamlet facing monstrous creatures to Lady Macbeth ruling fantastical kingdoms, the possibilities are endless. Every show begins with a single audience decision that determines which characters take centre stage, before spiralling into a fast-paced and often absurd journey through a world of magic, danger and humour.

With more than 700 performances across North America behind it, the production arrives in Edinburgh with a format that has been refined through years of touring. Its blend of accessibility and spontaneity means it appeals equally to theatre lovers, gamers and newcomers alike.

Playful, unpredictable and packed with audience participation, Dungeons and Shakespeare offers a fresh take on both classic literature and live performance.
