Writer and performer Mimi Collins makes her Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut with Good Girl, a darkly comic solo show exploring infidelity, emotional collapse and the unexpected connections found in unconventional spaces.
The piece follows Alix, a woman left reeling after discovering her husband’s betrayal. Determined to save her marriage despite everything, she finds herself navigating increasingly complex emotional territory, repeatedly redefining what she is willing to accept. As the relationship unravels, Alix’s search for meaning and self-worth leads her into a world she never expected.
What begins as a moment of impulsive vulnerability opens the door to a community built on openness and consent, offering a stark contrast to the dishonesty she has experienced. Through therapy sessions, messages and confessional moments, the show examines the emotional logic that can keep people tied to relationships long after they begin to fracture.
Collins presents Alix as a complex figure, laying bare her contradictions as well as her resilience. The production, directed by Ellie Pyle, balances humour and honesty in its exploration of desire, shame and the process of rebuilding a sense of self.
Good Girl runs at Gilded Balloon Patter House from 5 – 31 August at 22:20. Tickets are on sale hereÂ
