Former Cirque du Soleil artists Gabrielle Martin and Jeremiah Hughes bring their award-winning company Corporeal Imago to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the UK premiere of Imago, a breathtaking aerial-dance duet exploring the tension between holding on and letting go. Running at Assembly Roxy (Central) from 30 July to 24 August (excluding 6, 11, and 18 August), this 40-minute performance is a visceral, emotionally charged experience.

Performed by married duo Eowynn and Isak Enquist, Imago fuses the high-stakes precision of aerial circus with the expressive depth of contemporary dance. Their real-life intimacy brings authenticity and vulnerability to a performance that is as emotionally resonant as it is physically daring.

The show is performed on a custom rope-loop apparatus invented by Martin and Hughes, allowing for a unique movement vocabulary that pushes the boundaries of aerial performance. The loop becomes a metaphor for connection, risk, and transformation—at once cradle, scaffold, and tightrope.
