Summerhall Arts announces 36 more shows for Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026

Two-time Fringe First Award-winning writer and performer Emma Frankland returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with her bold new solo show No Apologies. Running from 31 July to 24 August (excluding 5, 11, and 18 August) at Summerhall’s Anatomy Lecture Theatre, this genre-defying piece explores identity, mythology, and the radical reimagining of cultural icons—asking, “What if Kurt Cobain was a trans woman?”

Directed by acclaimed performance artist Harry Clayton-Wright, No Apologies is a raucous, punk-infused theatrical experience that blends cabaret, music, and personal storytelling. Drawing on internet discourse and classical mythology, Frankland reimagines Nirvana’s iconic 1993 MTV Unplugged concert through a trans lens, confronting societal expectations and celebrating the power of living authentically.
