Tangram Theatre Company has announced the full cast for the London premiere of Memoriam, a new play by British-Israeli playwright Noga Flaishon, which runs at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 22 October to 21 November 2026.
Directed by Daniel Goldman, the production stars Beverley Klein as grandmother Rivka, following her recent Olivier Award nomination for Fiddler on the Roof. She is joined by Rachel Barry as Rivka’s granddaughter Rachel, Jimena Larraguivel as Becky, Ashley Margolis as David, and Ben Wiggins as Chris.
Set in the near future, Memoriam imagines a world in which a technology company can extract, package and sell people’s memories as fully immersive virtual reality experiences.
Rachel works as a buyer for the company and, when her grandmother Rivka becomes the last living Holocaust survivor, she is faced with both a professional opportunity and a deeply personal responsibility. What begins as a proposal to preserve Rivka’s memories develops into a family conflict exploring questions of ownership, ethics, legacy and remembrance.
The new play has already attracted significant industry attention. It was selected for the Royal Court Theatre’s Open Submissions Festival 2025, where it received a staged reading after being chosen as one of just five plays from more than 3,000 submissions.
Memoriam was also shortlisted for the Papatango Playwriting Prize, long-listed for the Verity Bargate Playwriting Award 2024, and named runner-up in the Jewish Playwrights Prize 2025, leading to its world premiere production at Main Street Theatre in Houston, Texas.
The production runs for a limited season at Southwark Playhouse Borough, with a press night scheduled for 26 October 2026.
