Apocalypse Kernow is an Oncomm nominated Cornish zombie-comedy featuring a government unwilling to act until the problem reaches London and evacuees from Cornwall having to pass a Devon Citizenship Test to be accepted there.
A proper Cornish comedy, pasties, cream teas, emmetts (that’s tourists for non-Cornish), social commentary on rights, immigration and Cornish refugees, it’s all here, as well as brain addicts (the appropriate term rather than the archaic ‘Z’ word). If you ever wanted to see zombies in, sorry brain addicts, in an already overcrowded NHS Hospital, at a school which still expects teachers to be able to teach pupils from all backgrounds – even brain addict ones, then this is for you.
With the show being Cornwall’s winning entry in the Annual National Best of BBC Upload as well as receiving an OnComm nomination it’s now time to take the zombies out of Cornwall and into another part of the UK the government doesn’t like to recognise (which is a theme of the piece). This play was first created as an daily audio show on YouTube during Lockdown.
