Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has released production images for its powerful new staging of Noughts & Crosses, based on the acclaimed novel by Malorie Blackman.

Adapted for the stage by Dominic Cooke and directed by Tinuke Craig, the production runs until 26 July 2025.

The cast features Noah Valentine as Callum and Corinna Brown as Sephy, alongside Alec Boaden, Amanda Bright, Halle Brown, Elle Davies, Eddie Elliott, Emma Jane Goodwin, Kate Kordel, Jessica Layde, Wela Mbusi, Habib Nasib Nader, Yolanda Ovide, Helena Pipe, Richard Riddell, Ben Skym, and Chanel Waddock.

The creative team includes RC Annie (Fight Directors), Phillippe Cato (Associate Director), Hazel Holder (Voice Coach), Ingrid Mackinnon (Movement & Intimacy Director), Max Pappenheim (Sound Designer), Joshua Pharo (Lighting Designer), Colin Richmond (Set & Costume Designer), Jacob Sparrow (Casting Director), and DJ Walde (Composer).

Widely regarded as one of the greatest novels of the 21st century, Noughts & Crosses tells a bittersweet love story with echoes of Romeo & Juliet, set against a backdrop of systemic division and social injustice.

“‘All our lives criss-crossing but never really touching. A world full of strangers living with all that fear.’”

Callum and Sephy, childhood friends from opposite sides of a segregated society, meet in secret on a secluded beach. When Callum is accepted into Sephy’s elite Cross school, their bond is tested by the forces that seek to keep them apart.

Dominic Cooke’s “excellent adaptation” (The Independent) is brought to life by Tinuke Craig in her Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre debut.
