First look production images have been released for the brand-new production of Cats at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
Directed and choreographed by Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre Artistic Director Drew McOnie, the new staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s celebrated musical opened on 6 August and continues its run until 19 September 2026.
Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the production brings the Jellicle tribe into the heart of contemporary London as the city’s strays and outsiders gather beneath the moon to discover who will be chosen.
Featuring a score packed with musical theatre favourites including Old Deuteronomy, Macavity: The Mystery Cat, The Jellicle Ball and Memory, the production has already become the fastest-selling musical in the venue’s 94-year history.
The cast features Fin Adams, Carla Bertran, Elliot Broadfoot, Grace Burrows, Matthew Caputo, Josie Chambers-Sims, Briana Craig, Katie Dunsden, Joshua-Samuel Freeman, Regan Garcia, Aaron Jenkins, Hannah Joseph, Taziva-Faye Katsande, Melanie La Barrie, Dianté Lodge, Owen McHugh, Danny Nattrass, Millie O’Connell, Andrew Parfitt, Charlotte Riby, Nathan Rigg, Lucie-Mae Sumner, Jaydon Vijn, Jack Wilcox, Gary Wilmot, Rachael Wooding, Jet Yau, Taela Yeomans-Brown and Patricia Zhou.
The production’s creative team includes set, costume and wigs designer Sami Fendall, lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, sound designer Adam Fisher, musical supervisor Alex Parker and musical director Geraint Owen.
The official synopsis reads: “Another day is dawning.”
“From Euston station to Victoria Grove, the strays and rebels of London gather under the Jellicle moon in the hope they’ll be the chosen one. And each of them asks, because each of them dares, who will it be?”
