Brett Goldstein returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe after a sabbatical with a brand-new stand up show, What Is Love Baby Don’t Hurt Me, about the four key tenets of the modern age: love, sex, porn and addiction.
In the three years since Brett was last at the Fringe, he has shot movies, won awards and appeared in US and UK TV shows, but most importantly of all, Brett has fallen in love. And he wouldn’t recommend it.
Brett has always told his honest true-life stories on stage but has shied away from the subject of his relationships. But after falling in love harder than ever before, he thought it was time to stop talking about his penis and start talking about his heart… and also his penis.
Brett successfully juggles life as an actor and writer. He co-wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed feature Superbob with Catherine Tate. He won the prestigious 2016 BIFA for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Adult Life Skills with Jodie Whittaker and can next be seen in the SXSW hit Wild Honey Pie alongside Jemima Kirke. His television credits include roles Hoff The Record, Derek and Uncle. Brett stared in the hilarious The Pact opposite Sarah Solemani on BBC2. Brett somehow also managed to find the time to sell out two solo runs at the Soho Theatre and perform at clubs up and down the country. Brett continues to be one of the busiest working comics.
