Hotly tipped, award-winning stand-up comedian, writer and co-creator of Comedy Central’s Modern Horror Stories, Daniel Audritt brings his highly anticipated debut hour Better Man to the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Better Man promises to be among the most punchline-heavy stand-up shows on the fringe, packed with hilarious musings on modern masculinity, love and relationships. Daniel thought he’d learnt everything he ever needed to know about life from 90s rom-coms but, finding himself in a relationship that he hopes will last, he’s forced to question everything. In this show, Daniel will explore what it means to be a better man in 2019 – taking a look at Toxic masculinity, “meninism” and the aggressive language on his moisturiser as he asks ‘Can we all be better men or this As Good as it Gets?’

Daniel Audritt is the director, co-writer and co-producer of Modern Horror Stories, the 11 part sketch show on Comedy Central International online as well as a number of Comic Relief Originals, including Stephen Hawking’s New Voice, which featured stars including Rebel Wilson, Liam Neeson, Eddie Redmayne, and Modern Dating Horror Story which was viewed over 250 million times online. He currently has numerous sitcom scripts in development with production companies in the UK and abroad and he will be co-writing BBC Radio 4 pilot Wisebowm. On screen, Daniel has been seen in every episode of Channel 5 talking heads show The Funny Thing About… alongside the likes of James Acaster, Nish Kumar and Kerry Godliman.

A sought after gag-writer, Daniel Audritt has had his jokes featured on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Mock the Week, The News Quiz, Dead Ringers and NewsJack. A joke from his 2018 work-in-progress show was named Dave’s fourth Best Joke of the Fringe last year.

Within eight months of his first stand-up performance, Daniel had already won a national New Act Competition, beating over 700 other comedians to be crowned Golden Jesters New Act of the Year 2014 as well as making it to the finals of various other competitions, including the prestigious Amused Moose Laugh Off and Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year. As well as performing around the UK, Daniel has appeared at the UCB, Broadway Comedy Club and the QED, in New York and can often be found performing multiple gigs around London on any given night.
