This show will contain scenes of a sexual nature, strobe lighting and strong language.

Join Jake Roche as he squeezes out every last drop of celeb juice, dishes the dirt and spills the tea on the world of fame in this autobiographical sort-of-musical. Presenting Jake’s Fringe debut, Jake Roche: Neporrhoids! looks at his meteoric rise to fame in a boyband and his existential quest for relevance, questioning if he is merely a ‘one-hit wonder’ nepo baby or more.

You’ll know Jake Roche as the lead vocalist of Rixton, who charted at number 1 with Me and My Broken Heart – an iconic song which celebrates its 10-year anniversary in July. You’ll know Jake Roche as the son of Shane Richie and Coleen Nolan. You’ll know Jake Roche as previously engaged to Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson. But what does any of this really mean – who are we, what are we doing, and why do we care?

Neporrhoids! tells Jake’s story, from Universal Music to universal credit. He forces himself to confront his childhood, broach honest sincere conversations with his dad, and consider his brush with fame.

Working with renowned theatre maker Laurence Cook (Dressed, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of The Dead) and Fringe winner Jordan Brookes, Neporrhoids! is honest, raw, and real. Destroying perceptions, Jake bares all and confronts his desire to be famous in a show that promises, at the very least, to entertain audiences.

Jake Roche comments, I felt like a complete fraud and a failure for years after the disbanding of Rixton. I was denying myself those honest vulnerable thoughts and emotions by hiding behind humour and irony. What better place to come and hide some more than the Edinburgh Fringe 2024.
