Eve is 23, she’s a Taurus, works in IT in a male-dominated, depressingly corporate office and has a voice in her head called Karen (who’s a complete bitch). She can’t stop thinking about the woman she saw screaming topless in Leicester Square on her lunch break.
Tonight she’s meeting Tim, because they ‘accidentally’ matched on Tinder and are going for a drink to catch up. They had sex when they were teenagers, but that was a long time ago. Now if Karen will just shut up for one minute maybe she can decide whether or not to wear a push up bra. Eve puts on lipstick then takes it off again. She wonders if Tim still has a prominent forehead and a snaggletooth. She wonders what Tim remembers.
“In terms of writing, I can honestly say it’s phenomenal” A Younger Theatre for Underground
From internationally-acclaimed playwright, Isla Van Tricht comes a provocative, humorous and startling solo show about having tits and teeth, and what to do with them.
“A very funny play, filled with spiky one-liners and deft recurring themes” ★★★★ Fringe Guru for The Litterati
Isla Van Tricht is a playwright and lyricist whose work has been produced over the last three years in Edinburgh, London & off-Broadway in New York. Her work has been longlisted for The Bruntwood Prize, Verity Bargate Award & Papatango Playwriting Award.
On the significance of ‘teeth’ in the play’s title, Isla comments: “Teeth because of being told to smile by strangers. Teeth because of biting your tongue. But also teeth because of biting back. Snarling. Teeth as the guardian of speech, the gatekeeper readying to pull down the draw bridge of the tongue and let the army of intelligent, emotional, angry, funny, necessary words charge out that have been bitten back for too long. Teeth because of sinking them right in to the flesh of life”.
