Brand new artwork, a trailer and behind-the-scenes footage have been released for Sylvia, the Olivier-nominated musical returning this Autumn for a major UK tour before a run at the Royal Albert Hall.
Beverley Knight will reprise her award-winning role as Emmeline Pankhurst, with Sharon Rose returning as Sylvia Pankhurst. The production celebrates the life of the fearless activist whose work transformed the lives of working women and men around the world.
The new assets offer a first look at the show’s updated visuals and creative direction as it prepares to open in Leicester on 24 September. The tour will then visit Birmingham Hippodrome, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Salford Lowry, Norwich Theatre Royal and Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre before culminating in five performances at the Royal Albert Hall from 13 to 15 November 2026.
Featuring an irresistible soundtrack fusing hip hop, funk and soul, Sylvia traces the story of the rebellious middle daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, exploring her political awakening and her break from her family to fight for the rights of working women.
The musical’s original world premiere at The Old Vic in 2023 was a sellout success. This revival is produced in association with Curve Leicester and supported by the Arts Council Incentivising Touring scheme.
The creative team includes Kate Prince as director, choreographer and co-writer, Priya Parmar as co-writer, music by Josh Cohen and DJ Walde, set and costume design by Ben Stones, lighting by Natasha Chivers, sound by Tony Gayle, video and animation by Andrzej Goulding, wigs, hair and make-up by Cynthia De La Rosa, dramaturgy by Lolita Chakrabarti and music supervision by Sean Green.
