Production images have been released for the world premiere of Sting at the Young Vic, written by Sophie Swithinbank and directed by Nancy Medina.

The new play, which runs in the intimate Maria Theatre until 18 July 2026, stars Adelle Leonce, Nick Blood and Phoebe Ladenburg. Press night is set for 23 June.

Leonce plays Ash alongside Blood as Dom and Ladenburg as Lily in what is described as a “bitingly funny and surreal new thriller” exploring power, belief and control.

The story follows Ash as she begins a new job cataloguing historic cases of women accused of witchcraft, only for tensions to rise between her, her boss Lily, and her boyfriend Dom.

As unsettling events unfold, the play interrogates systemic injustice within institutions meant to protect, blending dark humour with a sharply contemporary perspective.

Further creative roles are filled by production dramatherapist Samantha Adams, voice coach Carol Fairlamb, costume supervisors Aimee Russam and Maddie Bevan, Jerwood Assistant Director Olivia Millar-Ross, Linbury Design Associate Yi Gao and Genesis Design Assistant Gisela Mulindwa.

Sting continues the Young Vic’s commitment to presenting bold new work and supporting emerging theatremakers within its Maria Theatre space.
