Production images have been released of Jonny Donahoe in the West End premiere of Every Brilliant Thing, now playing at @sohoplace theatre.
Written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, and co-directed by Macmillan and Jeremy Herrin, Every Brilliant Thing is a heartwarming one-person play that explores the power of hope and the small joys that make life worth living.
“You’re seven years old. Mum’s in hospital. Dad says she’s ‘done something stupid’. She finds it hard to be happy. You start a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world. Everything worth living for. You leave it on her pillow. You know she’s read it because she’s corrected your spelling.”
This critically acclaimed production, which has toured over 80 countries and was adapted into an HBO special, now makes its West End debut with a rotating cast of five celebrated performers.
The season opened with Lenny Henry, followed by Jonny Donahoe, who reprises his original role. He will be succeeded by Ambika Mod, Sue Perkins, and Minnie Driver.
Every Brilliant Thing is designed by Vicki Mortimer, with lighting by Jack Knowles, sound by Tom Gibbons, and casting by Jessica Ronane CDG.
The production is presented by Second Half Productions in association with Nica Burns and Paines Plough, alongside Gavin Kalin Productions, Rodeo/Tilted, and Winkler & Smalberg.
