Production photography has been released for the Ustinov Studio’s upcoming staging of Endgame, Samuel Beckett’s macabre comedy, running from Thursday 4 September to Saturday 4 October at Theatre Royal Bath.

Joining the previously announced Mathew Horne and Selina Cadell are award-winning actor, director and writer Douglas Hodge and acclaimed film and television actor Clive Francis.

In a bare room, Hamm, an old, blind tyrant, is locked in a stalemate with his servant Clov. Interrupted by the nostalgic musings of Hamm’s ancient, dustbin-dwelling parents, Hamm and Clov cling stubbornly to their comic routine of casual savagery and mutual dependence.

Douglas Hodge plays Hamm. His television credits include Black Mirror, Catastrophe, The Night Manager and Hulu’s The Great. On film, he starred as Alfred in Joker. On stage, he won the Olivier Award for La Cage Aux Folles and was nominated for The Caretaker. He has directed extensively in the West End and on Broadway.

Mathew Horne takes on the role of Clov. He is best known for Gavin & Stacey, and has appeared in Dad’s Army, Agatha Raisin, Catherine Tate’s Nan and Bad Education. His stage credits include Noises Off, Rain Man, The Homecoming and Charley’s Aunt.

Selina Cadell appears as Nell. She is currently starring in the West End transfer of The Deep Blue Sea. Her screen credits include Doc Martin, Spooks, Upstairs Downstairs and The Madness of King George.

Director Lindsay Posner returns to the Ustinov Studio following West End transfers of Noises Off, A View From The Bridge and The Deep Blue Sea.
