Brand-new production images have been released for Invasive Species, the dark comedy written by and starring Maia Novi, for its UK premiere at King’s Head Theatre.

The play runs from 3 September to 3 October 2025, with press night scheduled for 5 September at 9pm.

Directed by Michael Breslin, Invasive Species follows Maia, an Argentinean actor determined to break into American cinema—even if it means losing her mind. The play explores the psychological toll of chasing the American dream through a surreal and genre-defying lens.

The cast includes Ella Blackburn, Maia Novi, Harrison Osterfield, Max Percy, and Kalifa Taylor.

Maia Novi’s stage play was named one of the ‘Top 10 Cultural Moments of 2024’ by The Hollywood Reporter, and is currently being developed into a feature film with Film4 and Wayward Pictures.

Speaking about the production, Maia Novi said: “It’s a sexy play. It’s a sexy universe.”

The creative team features dramaturg Amauta M. Firmino, UK set designer and costume supervisor Damien Stanton, UK associate lighting designer Ben Jacobs, UK associate sound designer Dominic Brennan, and production manager Carrie Croft. James Quaife serves as general manager and executive producer.
