First look rehearsal images have been released for Bank of Dave The Musical as preparations continue for the world premiere next month.

The new British musical opens in May 2026, playing Lowry in Salford from 2 to 16 May before transferring to Curve in Leicester from 20 to 30 May.

The production stars Sam Lupton as Dave Fishwick, the Burnley-born businessman whose true story inspired the Sunday Times best-selling book, BAFTA Award-winning documentary and hit Netflix film.

Based on the remarkable rise of the UK’s first new high street bank in over a century, Bank of Dave The Musical follows Fishwick as he challenges the financial establishment and puts community before profit.

The musical features a book and lyrics by Rob Madge, music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary and is directed by Curve Artistic Director Nikolai Foster.

The newly released rehearsal images offer an early glimpse of the company in action as they bring the feel-good, northern-set story to the stage ahead of opening night.

Produced by ROYO, Future Artists Entertainment, Curve and Lowry, the show promises laugh-out-loud humour, heart and an original British score inspired by a real-life underdog story.
