Rehearsal images have been released for the world premiere of Blessings, a darkly funny and moving new family drama by Sarah Shelton, running at Riverside Studios from 30 September to 26 October 2025.
The production stars acclaimed screen and stage actor Gary Webster, known for Minder and Family Affairs, alongside Anna Acton (Rivals, EastEnders, Casualty), Emily Lane (Frozen The Musical, Hello, Dolly!), Hannah Traylen (Boiling Point, Call The Midwife), Milly Roberts (Small Want, Butterflies), and Freddie Webster.
Blessings marks the professional stage debut of Freddie Webster, who appears opposite his father Gary Webster after graduating from Mountview.
Set in a small English town in the 1960s, Blessings explores the cracks beneath a seemingly respectable Catholic family. As secrets surface and tensions rise, the Deacon household becomes a pressure cooker of emotion, faith, and dysfunction.
Anna Acton, who plays Dorie, said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining this incredible cast and to be working again with Gary Webster and Sarah Shelton. Blessings is a powerful and honest piece of theatre that I think audiences will really connect with.”
The play made its debut as a shortened piece at last year’s Riverside Bitesize Festival and now returns in full form, promising a bold and emotionally charged experience.
Written by Sarah Shelton and presented by Artful Entertainment, Blessings is directed by a creative team yet to be announced.
