First look rehearsal images have been released for High Society, ahead of its run at the Barbican Theatre this summer.
The new images offer an early look at the company in rehearsals for the highly anticipated revival of Cole Porter’s classic musical.
The production begins performances on 19 May 2026, with a press night on 3 June, for a strictly limited season running until 11 July before embarking on a UK and Ireland tour.
The cast is led by Helen George and Felicity Kendal, joined by Freddie Fox, Julian Ovenden, Carly Mercedes Dyer, Nigel Lindsay and Malcolm Sinclair.
Fox, making his musical theatre debut, said: “I couldn’t be more excited to be making my musical theatre debut in HIGH SOCIETY at the Barbican Theatre. It’s the realisation of a boyhood dream for me, and I can’t wait to dive into this world, the music and the sheer joy of Cole Porter.”
Ovenden added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning to musical theatre; there’s nothing quite like the energy of a live audience and this show is pure delight from start to finish.”
Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, the production also features choreography by Anthony Van Laast and musical supervision by Stephen Ridley.
The musical, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and a book by Arthur Kopit, brings together romance, wit and high society scandal, set against the backdrop of a glamorous wedding weekend.
Featuring iconic songs including Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Let’s Misbehave and True Love, the production promises a lavish revival of one of musical theatre’s most celebrated scores.
