Kiln Theatre has released first look rehearsal images for its new revival of Natasha Gordon’s acclaimed play Nine Night, which is now booking from 12 November 2026 to 2 January 2027 following an extension due to popular demand.
Directed by Kiln Theatre Artistic Director Amit Sharma, Nine Night blends humour and poignant family dynamics as three generations of a London family come together for a traditional Jamaican wake.
The play follows a family gathering after the death of Gloria, as relatives and friends assemble for the traditional Nine Night. As mourners arrive bringing rum, curry and long-held grievances, tensions begin to rise and uncomfortable truths emerge.
Originally celebrated for its heartfelt exploration of grief, family and community, the play returns in a brand-new production that shines a light on the traditions and complexities surrounding loss.
The cast includes Sonya Cassidy, Estella Daniels, Llewella Gideon, Ava Hinds-Jones, Gary McDonald, Dani Moseley and Javone Prince.
The creative team features writer Natasha Gordon, director Amit Sharma, set and costume designer Libby Watson, lighting designer Rory Beaton, sound designer and composer Mwen, movement director Kloé Dean, voice and dialect coaches Hazel Holder and Claudette Williams, casting director Julia Horan CDG and casting assistant Poppy Apter.
The production is described as a celebration of both the humour and hardships of grief, with Sharma directing Gordon’s critically acclaimed debut play for a new generation of audiences.
Nine Night runs at Kiln Theatre from 12 November 2026 until 2 January 2027, with Press Night scheduled for Friday 20 November at 7pm.
