First look rehearsal imagery has been released for PUBLIC – The Musical as the award-winning show prepares to run at Curve in Leicester from 30 May to 13 June.
The musical, created by the collective Stroud and Notes, previously enjoyed a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and now returns in a reimagined production presented by Roast Productions in association with Curve.
Set entirely inside a gender-neutral public toilet, PUBLIC – The Musical follows four strangers who become unexpectedly trapped together, forcing personal tensions, political differences and private fears into the open.
The newly released rehearsal images offer an early look at the cast bringing the story to life ahead of performances later this month.
The cast features Grace Towning as Zo, Matt Corner as Andrew, Ivano Turco as Finley, and Cole Dennis as Laura.
The musical is written by Hannah Sands, Kyla Stroud and Natalie Stroud, with Sands also directing. Music is composed by Kyla Stroud, choreography is by Natalie Stroud, and Olivia Zacharia serves as Musical Supervisor and Orchestrator.
The creative team includes set and costume designer Amy Jane Cook, lighting designer Katy Morison, musical director Livs Needham, associate designer Anita Gander, and casting by Harry Blumenau Casting.
PUBLIC – The Musical was first performed at VAULT Festival 2023, where it received the VAULT Festival Origins Award, before being named a Playbill Pick of the Fringe during its Edinburgh run.
