New rehearsal images have been released for the UK premiere of Ride the Cyclone, opening at Southwark Playhouse Elephant on 14 November 2025.
The cult musical, written by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, has already broken Southwark Playhouse’s record for most tickets sold in a 24-hour period.
Due to overwhelming demand, five additional performances have been added to the run, which continues until 10 January 2026.
Ride the Cyclone follows six teenagers who die in a freak rollercoaster accident and find themselves in limbo, offered one last chance to return to life.
The cast includes Edward Wu (Kim’s Convenience) as The Amazing Karnak, Baylie Carson (Mean Girls, SIX) as Ocean, Grace Galloway (Priscilla The Party, Blood Brothers) as Jane Doe, and Robyn Gilbertson making her professional debut as Constance.
Also making their professional debuts are Damon Gould (Cabaret, Newsies) as Noel, Bartek Kraszewski as Mischa, and Jack Maverick as Ricky.
Nathaniel Purnell (Shucked, The Time Traveller’s Wife) and Rebecca D’Lacey (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) complete the cast.
Writers Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell said: “We are beyond thrilled that a musical, which began in the basement of a Ukrainian church in Victoria, Canada, has finally found its way to London, England, this fall! The exceptional team assembled for this production is truly remarkable, and we can’t wait for UK audiences to experience Ride the Cyclone!”
The production is directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee, with musical direction by Ben McQuigg, and design by Ryan Dawson Laight, Tim Deiling, Nina Dunn, and Tom Marshall.
Ride the Cyclone is produced by Kevin McCollum, Morris Berchard and Jack Maple, and licensed by Broadway Licensing.
