Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has unveiled a first look at rehearsal images for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Dream Ballets: A Triple Bill, running from 19–22 June 2025.
This unique production reimagines the iconic dream ballets from Allegro, Oklahoma! and Carousel, brought to life by three of the UK’s most celebrated choreographers: Julia Cheng, Shelley Maxwell and Kate Prince.
Each choreographer brings their distinctive style to the stage, with Cheng tackling the rarely performed Allegro, Maxwell reinterpreting Oklahoma!’s dream ballet, and Prince offering a fresh take on Carousel.
The cast features a stellar lineup of dancers. For Allegro, the ensemble includes Asmara Cammock, Jonadette Carpio, Paris Crossley, Jevan Howard-Jones, Hannah Joseph and Stuart Thomas.
Oklahoma! will be performed by Tanisha Addicott, Chris Akrill, José Alves, Tania Dimbelo, Nahum McLean and Vanessa Vince-Pang.
The Carousel segment features Deavion Brown, Tommy Franzen, Nethra Menon, Hannah Sandilands, Elijah Smith and Malachi Welch.
The production is accompanied live on stage by the 26-piece Sinfonia Smith Square orchestra, with new musical arrangements by Tony Award-winner Simon Hale.
Drew McOnie, Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, said:
“I am thrilled to be welcoming three outstanding groups of dancers to Regent’s Park for what will be a unique celebration of dance and music. I can’t wait to see how they and Shelley Maxwell, Julia Cheng and Kate Prince reimagine these timeless Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Dream Ballets for audiences at the Open Air Theatre.”
