First look rehearsal images released for Sherlock Holmes at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre

The world premiere mystery by Joel Horwood opens this May, directed by Sean Holmes.

Rehearsals Showing Sherlock Holmes by Joel Horwood Credit Tristram Kenton

Rehearsal images have been released for the world premiere of Sherlock Holmes at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

The new stage mystery, written by Joel Horwood and directed by Sean Holmes, will run from Saturday 2 May until Saturday 6 June 2026, with a press night on Wednesday 13 May at 7.45pm.

Joshua James stars as Sherlock Holmes, with Jyuddah Jaymes appearing as Watson.

       

The full cast includes Christopher Akrill, Andre Antonio, Will Brown, Paolo Guidi, Benjamin Harrold, Nadi Kemp-Sayfi, Marcia Lecky, Mervin Noronha, Yuyu Rau, Theo Reece, Rakhee Sharma, Tamara Tare and Patrick Warner.

Set in London in 1890, the story follows Holmes and Watson as a mysterious woman and a stolen jewel draw them into a dangerous conspiracy with lives at stake.

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre Reveals Full Cast for Brand-New Production of CATS

The creative team includes composer Jherek Bischoff, movement director Charlotte Broom, casting director Stuart Burt CDG CSA, lighting designer Ryan Day and sound designer Elena Peña.

Set and co-costume design comes from Grace Smart, with Lisa Aitken as co-costume designer and supervisor, and fight direction by Enric Ortuno.

Sean Holmes directs the production, marking a return to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre for the director.

The production is presented by agreement with the Conan Doyle Estate and is supported by Cockayne Grants for the Arts.
