The producers of FIVER, the sell-out hit musical, which follows the dramatic journey of a five-pound note, are releasing a cast album in March. The album, titled Fiver (Live Concert Recording), is the product of three special, live-streamed concert versions of the show, which played to a global audience in November 2020.

The album is available for pre-order now on iTunes and on CD and will be released on Friday 5 March.

100 exclusive CD’s are available from www.fivermusical.co.uk and come with a free FIVER poster signed by the cast.

There will be an Instagram Live Listening Party on Thursday 4 March at 7:30pm featuring members of the cast and special guests, during which fans can ask questions and learn more about the history and development of the show whilst enjoying an exclusive listen to the album.

FIVER follows the story of a humble £5 note as it passes through the hands and pockets of different people. Often unnoticed, and obviously unaware, the fiver is witness to significant moments in each character’s life – from an appreciation of their skills as a street performer, the start or end of relationships, to the simple realisation that they can afford a bed for the night.

The November concerts saw the return of the 2019 cast, which includes Alex James Ellison, who co-wrote the show with Musical Director, Tom Lees. FIVER stars Luke Bayer (Jamie New, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Aoife Clesham (Peter Pan International Tour), Alex James Ellison (Dickon, The Secret Garden), Dan Buckley (Ferris, Eugenius!), and Hiba Elchikhe (Princess Jasmine, Disney’s Aladdin).

The show was a huge success in 2019, featuring on Elaine Paige’s BBC Radio 2 programme and playing to sold-out houses and brilliant reviews. It was nominated for Best Off-West End Musical in the 2019 WhatsOnStage Awards as well as three West End Wilma Awards, in which Luke Bayer won ‘Best Actor’ for his performance. Last year’s concert also attracted media attention from BBC news and BBC radio, with fans particularly enjoying the interactive elements that only a truly live experience brings. Alex and Tom were determined to give their online audience a unique experience with each show.

Alex said: “We’re so excited to finally be able to release this album! Fans of the show have been asking for it since our run back in 2019 and I’m so glad we were able to immortalise this production with a live recording. We feel so fortunate to have worked with this amazing cast and thank them for bringing our songs to life!

We decided we would only do the November concerts if they could be one hundred percent live. The original show at Southwark Playhouse had a lot of audience interaction so for the live-streamed concerts, we used social media to interact with people, meaning I could connect with and chat to them during the interval. Knowing we had three sound recordings from those concerts started the conversation about releasing a cast album. and we were determined to turn the incredible performances into a live cast recording.”

Fans have been demanding a cast recording since the original 2019 run at Southwark Playhouse. This live recording should satisfy them, with 25 tracks capturing the magic of the concert livestreams.
