York Theatre Royal, in association with Everyman Theatre Cheltenham and Buxton Opera House, has announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere of Military Wives – The Musical.

The new production, written and directed by BAFTA Award-winner Debbie Isitt, is inspired by the true story of the Military Wives choir and based on the hit 2019 film Military Wives.

The cast includes Kayla Carter as Faith, Emma Crossley as Bex, Jessica Daley as Jenny, Ashleigh Gray as Terri, Adrian Hansel as Luke, Sydney Isitt-Ager as Sarah, Joe Kelly as Adam, Bobbie Little as Olive/Paula, Billy Roberts as Dale/Simon/Andy, Caroline Sheen as Susannah, Rachael Wooding as Krissy, and Stewart Wright as Dave the Welfare Officer.

Joining Isitt on the creative team are George Dyer (Arranger, Orchestrator and Musical Supervisor), Katie Lias (Designer), Rory Beaton (Lighting Designer), Richard Brooker (Sound Designer), Rebecca Louis (Movement Director), and Marc Frankum (Casting Director).

Debbie Isitt said: “I’m so excited to get started with this phenomenal cast and creative team to bring Military Wives – The Musical to life. It’s an uplifting and powerful story about friendship, courage, and finding your voice, and I can’t wait for audiences in York to be the first to experience it on stage.”

Paul Crewes, CEO of York Theatre Royal, added: “We are so excited to be investing in the creation of a brand-new British musical right here in York. Audiences can expect a really special show full of songs they will know and love!”

Military Wives – The Musical runs from 10 to 27 September 2025, with its official press night on 16 September.

The musical promises a feel-good celebration of female friendship and empowerment, featuring a mix of pop, rock and power ballads that will have audiences laughing, crying and singing along.
