JW3 and Plotnek Productions have announced the full cast for this year’s festive production, Dick Whittingberg Gets into a Pickle, which runs from 6 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
Now in its fourth year, the annual JW3 pantomime has become a popular festive tradition, bringing a distinctly Jewish twist to the classic British pantomime format.
Set in 18th century London, the show follows young Dick as he travels to the capital hoping to make his fortune. Instead, he finds himself caught up in a series of chaotic adventures involving a talking cat, a villainous rat and a diamond heist in Ratton Garden.
Following the success of previous productions including Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Pig, Goldie Frocks and the Bear Mitzvah and Cinderella and the Matzo Ball, the new show promises more music, mischief and pickle-themed comedy.
The production reunites the creative team behind the previous JW3 pantomimes, with writer and lyricist Nick Cassenbaum joined by musical director and lyricist Josh Middleton, director Abigail Anderson and choreographer Yael Loewenstein.
Aveev Isaacson leads the cast as Dick Whittingberg, alongside Debbie Chazen as Sarah Fritz, Gaby Coleman as Bow Bells, Rosie Yadid as Nigella Garbage and John Henry Falle as Tevye Tittlebaum.
They are joined by Lillith Freeman and Ilya Jackson as ensemble members and understudies.
Writer and lyricist Nick Cassenbaum said: “I am so excited to finally get my hands on Dick Whittington or should I say WHITTINGBERG. This is such an iconic London panto and to be able to give it a Yiddishe twist is a dream come true. Audiences will see Dick arriving in a way that many Jewish (and non-Jewish) families with immigrant history did facing many similar obstacles. BUT this doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a pantomime… it is, and a hilarious one too.”
With a live band performing klezmer-inspired versions of well-known songs and plenty of pickle puns throughout, Dick Whittingberg Gets into a Pickle aims to deliver another festive family favourite for London audiences.
