Full Cast Announced for The Hunchback of Notre Dame in Concert at Prince Edward Theatre

Award-winning producer Jack Maple has announced the full cast for the UK professional premiere of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in concert at the Prince Edward Theatre.

The production will feature three performances only: 3pm and 7:30pm on Sunday 17 August 2025, and 6pm on Sunday 24 August 2025.

Leading the cast is Ben Joyce as Quasimodo. Joyce’s recent credits include Shucked at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Back to the Future The Musical at the Adelphi Theatre, and Jersey Boys at the Trafalgar Theatre.

       

Zachary James will play Claude Frollo. He has appeared in the original Broadway casts of The Addams Family, South Pacific, and Coram Boy, and recently made his West End debut as Hades in Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre.

Christine Allado takes on the role of Esmeralda. She starred in the original West End casts of Hamilton and The Prince of Egypt, and has also appeared in Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, We Will Rock You, and In The Heights.

Nicole Scherzinger Joins Star-Studded Cast for Love Life Charity Concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane

Dex Lee will play Captain Phoebus. Known for his role as Bear Sylvester in Doctors, his stage credits include Kiss Me, Kate, Oklahoma!, The Wild Party, and Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

Adam Strong joins the cast as Clopin. He recently starred as Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show and has also appeared in Disney’s Aladdin, Rock of Ages, and We Will Rock You.

The role of Quasimodo will also be BSL interpreted on stage by Oliver Hewing, a graduate of Performers College and a dancer with credits including MOVE IT.

Also joining the cast are Lois Mia Chapman, Davide Fienauri, Caleb Lagayan, Emma Lloyd, Anna Marya Smith, Fanja Parent, and Aaron Rahn.

       

The production will feature a 20-piece choir from the London Voices and a full orchestra.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, with a book by Peter Parnell. It will be directed by Jonathan O’Boyle with musical direction by Olivier Award-winner Alan Williams.

Choreography is by Olivier Award nominee Mark Smith, with lighting design by Jamie Platt, costume design by Alice McNicholas, and sound design by Sound Quiet Time. Casting is by Harry Blumenau, with production management by Toby P Darvill and creative signing consultation by Kevin Jewell.

This concert production brings Victor Hugo’s timeless story to life with soaring melodies and passionate performances.

Featuring iconic songs such as “Out There,” “God Help the Outcasts,” and “The Bells of Notre Dame,” this is a rare opportunity to experience the beloved musical in a spectacular concert setting.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame first premiered in Berlin in 1999 and was later reimagined in 2014 in San Diego. This version has since been staged across the US, Japan, and Germany.
